as the water takes some of the weight off your joints (The amount depends on how deep you are standing in the water) you are able to do more, have greater freedom of movement and the heat and water pressure can often reduce the pain and swelling.
Have an initial assessment at either our BB or BH clinics first to decide what the goals of treatment are and whether Aquatic Physiotherapy is the best way to manage your condition and that it is safe for you to attend. You will complete a screening medical checklist on this first appointment also. Once it has been deemed that hydrotherapy is appropriate, our friendly admin staff will organise a time for you to meet your therapist at the pool and they’ll give you all the information regarding your appointment.

Physiotherapist
Luke graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from ACU in Brisbane in 2015 after which he took a great opportunity with a busy practice in Melbourne. After two years in the cold of Melbourne Luke moved back to the Tweed Valley where he grew up.
Over the two years in Melbourne Luke treated a variety of injuries in-clinic and on the sporting field and was lucky enough to be apart of the Victorian Rugby League Representative programs as a Team Physiotherapist and trainer. This then led Luke to be invited to attend the Australian Schoolboys Championship with the Combined Affiliated State Team.
This has given Luke a great opportunity to work with a variety of individuals to create a suitable treatment plan to get the best long-lasting results. Through the use of manual therapy, dry needling, clinical Pilates and exercise programs he is able to work with you to get you back to where you want to be.
Away from Physiotherapy, Luke loves sport, the beach and his sausage dog Rocky.
We are “Members Choice” and “Members First” provider physiotherapists (at our Broadbeach clinic), for Medibank Private and BUPA, respectively.
This means that you have less out of pocket expenses for your treatment.
